La Femme International Film Festival Announces Screening Of “The Ninth Cloud” With Red Carpet: Mi

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. - Oct. 14, 2014 - PRLog -- La Femme International Film Festival announces a special screening with Celebrity Red Carpet of “The Ninth Cloud” followed by a cast and crew Q&A on October 18, 2014 (Saturday) at 7pm (Regal Theatre at LA LIVE).

Directed and written by Jane Spencer (“Little Noises”, “Wake Up Running: A Story of Losers”) and co-written by Lucy Shuttleworth (“The Merchant of Venice”, “Head in the Clouds”), Megan Maczko ( ”Me and Orson Welles” and upcoming Tom Hanks movie “A Hologram for the King”), Jean-Hugues Anglade (Cesar Award winning actor). The Ninth Cloud boosts a spectacular performance by Michael Madsen as “Bob”, a poet who is the overlord of the bohemian artists of 1990’s London.

The Ninth Cloud is a tragi-comedy that plays in the confused reality of a 24 year old girl called Zena (Megan Maczko) who just moved to Hackney, East London, after the death of her parents in a plane crash. She has an active imagination and pursues a fantasy life to cope with what she calls ‘the dark world’. The dynamic performances by these actors deliver a dark comedy with a lot of depth.

“What I did with The Ninth Cloud is explore several philosophical and emotional  themes through the activities of a group of people who clash into each other, both physically and emotionally, while running away from their pasts and dreaming of their futures,” stated Jane Spencer (Director). “We are thrilled to have such an exciting director with her visionary work as our special screening film this year,” said Leslie LaPage (Founder/Director).

Spencer captures the childlike dream sequences of Zena with a playful magical directorial hand which enhances this black comedy.  The Producers are Elena Baranova, Christo Dimassis, Marc Holthuizen, Richard Hudson, Gia Muresan, Kimberly Robson, Bruno Rosato, Wendy Thomas, and Julia Verdin. The Production company is Ward9 Productions, GmbH distributed by Shoreline Entertainment presenting this screening.

The screening will be held at the 10th Annual La Femme International Film Festival on October 18th at the LA Live Regal Theatre Stadium 14 in Los Angeles, CA (1000 W. Olympic BLVD, 90015) Red Carpet to begin at 6:30pm with Screening to start at 7:00pm, followed by a cast and crew post show Q&A and After Party at Spears Stake and Seafood House.
