FERNANDINA BEACH, Fla. - Oct. 14, 2014 - PRLog -- Amelia Island, Florida: Following the trend of food tours across the United States, Amelia Island Tasting Tours (AITT) aims to showcase the unique local restaurants and bars that make downtown Fernandina Beach such a wonderful place to visit and live.

“Foodies love Amelia Island for it’s eclectic mix of local restaurants with high-quality offerings,” says AITT co-founder, Marisol Triana. “This is a wonderful, fun way to bring locals and visitors into downtown Fernandina Beach for a true taste experience.”

Right now, AITT is starting with two tours, the Downtown Tasting Tour and the Mixology Tour. On the Downtown Tasting Tour, guests will visit 5 restaurants and enjoy specially made tastings while learning about the history of the restaurant from the owner or chef. Between stops, guests will enjoy beautiful downtown Fernandina Beach while hearing a little history of the island.

On the Mixology Tour, guests will stroll to 4 bars or restaurants to try craft cocktails made by Amelia’s best bartenders, while learning about the bootlegging history of Fernandina Beach. To add to the fun, guest will vote for the “AITT Bartender of the Week,” encouraging friendly competition between bartenders who vie for the coveted trophy.

To date, there are 13 bars and restaurants in downtown Fernandina Beach signed up to partner with AITT as tasting locations. These establishments include Espana, Hola Cuban Cafe, The Courtyard Pub and Grill, Happy Tomato Cafe, Pablo’s Mexican Restaurant, Joe’s 2nd Street Bistro, Arte Pizza, The Crab Trap, Bright Mornings Cafe, LuLu’s at the Thompson House, The Green Turtle Tavern, Karibrew, and Nana Teresa’s Bake Shop.
