Imaging Specialists Appears in Moultrie News

CHARLESTON, S.C. - Oct. 14, 2014 - PRLog -- Imaging Specialists was recently featured in the Moultrie News as an affordable option for a breast exam.   Highlighting the Get Checked program, lowcountry women can receive a mammogram and pay only $100.   For the second year, Imaging Specialists has announced that they will offer mammograms for a $100 self-pay rate through the end of the year. This is half off what a digital mammogram typically costs and is hundreds of dollars less than the local hospital rate.

October is National Breast Cancer Month and breast cancer is the second-leading cause of death among women in the United States. The American Cancer Society estimates that 232,570 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed in 2014. In addition, they predict that there will be 40,000 deaths due to breast cancer

Dr. Michael Garovich says these statistics prompted Imaging Specialists to take action. He said, “These are staggering numbers. We know and studies prove that early detection is the key with breast cancer. It is simple; mammograms save lives. At Imaging Specialists, we want to make digital mammography an affordable choice through our Get Checked program.”

To obtain the Get Checked reduced self-pay rate, women will need to have a coupon in hand at time of service. The coupons can be found online at www.imagingsc.com and will be distributed to local Ob/Gyn practices as well. Imaging Specialists will also handle the transfer of prior mammography films for patients. Patients can request transfer electronically at www.imagingsc.com/records-release-authorization/.
