SAGE Announces 2014 “Person Of The Year”

IRVINE, Calif. - Oct. 13, 2014 - PRLog -- The 55+ Housing Council (http://www.55socal.com) of the Building Industry Association of Southern California (http://www.biasc.org) announces its 2014 “Person of the Year” for this fall’s SAGE Awards. Laura Archuleta, president of Jamboree Housing Corporation (http://www.jamboreehousing.com/), will be honored for guiding her nonprofit, community development company into a leading statewide provider of more than 7,400 homes in more than 75 communities. Jamboree further provides responsive resident services and programs that enhance the quality of life for seniors throughout California.

Celebrating 20 years of Shaping Advancements in Generational Environments (http://55socal.com/sage-awards/) (SAGE), the annual awards honor the innovative professionals, projects and programs that have contributed to the enhancement of life for California residents age 55+.

Explains 55+ Housing Council President and Outdoor Dimensions Vice President Valerie Hardman, “We’re privileged to recognize Laura as this year’s Person of the Year, as she epitomizes the true definition of SAGE. Laura’s commitment to affordable housing spans 25 years, including in the public sector and advocating for high quality residences for seniors, in addition to low-income families and people with special needs.”

Archuleta recently served as a Distinguished Fellow with the Department of Planning, Policy and Design in the School of Social Ecology at UC Irvine, while on the Board of Directors for the Building Industry Association of Orange County and the Advisory Board for the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco.

SAGE entries are now being accepted for Program of the Year, Project of the Year and “On the Boards” Project of the Year, with entries due August 29, 2014.
