Artist Lend Support For ALS Research & Services

NEW YORK - Oct. 13, 2014 - PRLog -- Brian Fender a very talented fine art photographer was diagnosed with ALS in February of 2011. Ron, his partner of 21 years,  held onto their adult lives in New York City for a year after the diagnosis. They went home to Arkansas for a visit, and they never went back. Brian has continued his creative career from bed with a gorgeous view, which he is very thankful for every day. He can barely walk,  He hasn't talked in a year and a half, haven’t eaten or had a drink of anything in the same amount of time. But by some miracle, even though his hands are skeletal with indentations between every bone, he has not lost the ability to type.

Brian never would have imagined in my wildest dreams that he would be the person he is today. Although his efforts in writing for film have continued, he anticipated this to be the most prolific time of his life, building relationships with other creatives, traveling, enjoying his physicality as he grew older and stronger.

He had been so focused on this breakthrough in his career that he didn’t fully appreciate the life he was living. Now he is grateful for the smallest of things, the beautiful birds that frequent his bird feeders outside his window, the beauty of the natural world that surrounds us, and the incredible amount of love he receive from family and friends.

It took a terminal illness to make him fully appreciate the multitude of blessings that come with just being alive. He loves artists and their creative spirits through curating his website hopefully Brian will expose other people to contemporary artists they might not be aware of.
