Fall in registrations for CAT 2014 will never dilute brand IIM

DELHI, India - Oct. 9, 2014 - PRLog -- It has been reported that number of registrations for CAT 2014 had a minor fall in registrations but that doesn’t mean any dilution in brand IIM. Chances are very high that after another round of registration on 10th October, 2014 numbers will close to 1.96 L this year.

The main reason for overall numbers coming down for CAT 2014 registration is that Universities like  Delhi University, Mumbai University, Pune University and other prestigious universities at Bangalore, Kolkata and Chennai have excelled a lot for the placements to graduating students at respective Universities.

CAT 2014 will still remain one of the most popular, competitive and toughest examination for MBA aspirants who wish to take admission in top 200 B-Schools including 13 IIMs in India.

Prof. Rohit kapoor, convener CAT 2014 is of the view that on the last day of CAT 2014 registration, lot of applicants requested to grant one more day hence, October 10th will be considered as last day of the registration for CAT 2014.

One of the significant change that CAT aspirants will see this year will be flexibility for devoting more or less time to each section according to their ability. Candidates will be able to switch from one section to another during the examination timing.

The examination will be conducted in 354 test sites of 99 cities.  The CAT 2014 will give an option to prefer three test cities in the order of preference. A candidate will be allotted a test site in one among the three preferred test cities in any one of the four sessions after the last date of registration.

Besides 13 IIMs who consider only valid CAT scores, there are other 106 top B schools who will accept CAT scores for their MBA programs.

The duration of Examination has been increased to 170 minutes instead of 140 minute exam. The Questions have also been increased to 50 in each section from existing 30 questions and you have 85 minutes to answer 50 questions in each section.
