Community Celebrates Ribbon Cutting Of Subaru South Tipp Park
By: Subaru of Indiana Automotive, Inc.
Surrounded by the parks colorful and unique new playstructures, SIA representatives and local officials cut the ceremonial ribbon, marking the grand opening of this premier neighborhood park.
"We're thrilled that Subaru South Tipp park is ready for visitors,” stated Lafayette Parks & Recreation Department Superintendent, Claudine Laufman. “This project is a perfect example of what can be attained through public-private partnerships, coupled with the support of the neighborhood association and the entire community."
Research shows when children can design their own play, it builds cognitive skills. The playground design and choice of playground equipment chosen for the Subaru South Tipp Park challenges children physically and mentally as it stimulates children to use their creativity. Special attention was given to designing a playground that includes surfacing and play pieces that are accessible to children of all physical abilities.
“SIA has always been a very family and community-focused company and this park is an example of that focus,” remarked SIA’s Executive Vice President, Tom Easterday. “We are truly fortunate to be a part of a community where so many different entities come together to support a project like Subaru South Tipp Park which provides healthy and fun activities for children and families. We thank all of the outstanding companies, local officials, the Lafayette Parks & Recreation Department and the Lafayette Parks Foundation for working closely together to make this great new park a reality.”
Subaru South Tipp Park is located on the corner of 3rd Avenue and Fountain Street, next to Bauer Center.
