For those of you listening outside of Arizona, the show starts at 6 p.m. MDT, 7 p.m. CDT and 8 p.m. EDT until Daylight Savings Time returns later this month. This week (October 12), it's the Rock and Roll 101 Bubblegum special! Junior High rock at its finest, including the works of The Archies, The Ohio Express, The 1910 Fruitgum Co., The Lemon Pipers, Josie & The Pussycats, The Monkees, The Raiders, The Osmonds, The Jackson 5, Bobby Sherman, The Partridge Family, and … Wilson Pickett! All that, and Major Hoople’s Boarding House, and much more! There are two Covers of the Week – “Sugar, Sugar” and “Got My Mind Set On You.” The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame MIA segment features the late Paul Revere, and we’ll have a belated tribute to the late producer/writer Bob Crewe, with a wide selection of hits he was involved with – either as a songwriter, producer, label owner – or all of the above. Looking ahead, the October 26 show features Halloween rock, a six-pack of hits from The Turtles, and a perusal of WCFL Chicago’s Sound 10 Survey for the week of October 28, 1967. For a different spin the classic rock singles and regional hits that time forgot, join Daniel on alternating Sundays for three hours of music educational fun on Rock and Roll 101, now in high fidelity! Class is in session at 5 p.m. this Sunday, October 12, on KQCK Internet Radio, Queen Creek, Arizona. Visit Rock and Roll 101 on KQCK on Facebook. Schedule is subject to change. End
