Shredded Wheat to support HEART UK's National Cholesterol Month

1.7 million Shredded Wheat and Shredded Wheat Bitesize packs will carry a call to action promoting National Cholesterol Month and the Great Cholesterol Challenge to support HEART UK, The Cholesterol Charity over the course of the next six weeks.
Oct. 7, 2014 - PRLog -- HEART UK is aiming to raise £50,000 with a wide range of activities during National Cholesterol Month this October while the Great Cholesterol Challenge is encouraging people to start a healthy habit and stick to it for the entire month – and get sponsored to do so.

Shredded Wheat packs will also urge consumers to make a one off text donation to HEART UK to support their work in raising awareness about the dangers of living with raised cholesterol.  This alone should raise £5000 of much needed funds for the charity.

These Shredded Wheat products are all approved by HEART UK and carry the HEART UK approval logo after passing stringent tests overseen by the HEART UK Product Approval Working Group, which consists of experts in nutrition, lipids and the food industry.

HEART UK dietician Linda Main said: “Shredded Wheat and Shredded Wheat Bitesize are low in saturated fat and can play an important role in a heart healthy diet and HEART UK is delighted that these products are supporting National Cholesterol Month and the Great Cholesterol Challenge.

“National Cholesterol Month gives us a great opportunity to raise awareness of the importance of having a healthy diet and keeping an eye on your cholesterol and the funds will help us support patients and their families who are affected by cholesterol-related conditions.”
