The Diving Bell announces debut EP and release concert

CHICAGO - Oct. 3, 2014 - PRLog -- Behold! Indie-folk seafarers The Diving Bell, having accomplished a most adventuresome and perilous journey in the recording studio, now proudly announce the unveiling of a precious artifact of their travels: a five-song collection of original musical recordings entitled “Behold the Bitter Monument.” These shall be debuted on Friday, 14 November with a performance at the Portage Theater in Chicago (4050 N. Milwaukee Ave., 7pm doors, $12), a concert also featuring the Little Family Band and Liza Day.

The Diving Bell set sail a year ago, its company braving fiercest rain and boldest sun as they traveled to legendary destinations such as Lincoln Hall, House of Blues, and the nationally syndicated radio show Business Rockstars, garnering comparisons to popular, emerging acts such as Phox and Lord Huron. The Diving Bell also gained acclaim for performances in unique venues such as warehouse floors and church balconies—videos are available at divingbellmusic.com.

The Diving Bell consists of husband-and-wife duo Steve Hendershot (The Spares) and Clare Hendershot, along with producer Joshua Robinson, Kevin Jones and Charles Murphy (Duck and Goose). Steve Hendershot’s songs have been featured on the HBO TV show True Blood and earned a national songwriting award from the Independent Artists Company.

The Diving Bell is named after a proto-submarine that sailed near Panama in 1869 and was left to rust there. Behold the Bitter Monument tracks its journey of exploration, invention and discovery.
