Doctor joins Big Matters obesity support organisation

Over the past ten years they have seen the rise in obesity continue despite more public awareness. With health issues associated to obesity on the increase, Dr Whymark will be writing on a variety of weight related issues as well as explaining some of the more practical problems that can arise for medical professionals when treating an obese patient. She is keen to address areas that are of specific concern to individuals and will be encouranging interaction to develop a broad spectrum of topics covered from both a medical professional and patient's viewpoint.

Dr Whymark specialises in Obstetric Anaesthesia and has a particular interest in the management of obese patients during pregnancy and childbirth. As the prevalence of obesity in society increases and individuals become obese earlier in life, obesity during pregnancy is becoming more common.
