El Gringo's here! And he wants to tell you about the Football World Cup in Brazil

Following football has never been so much fun. John Ellis' hilarious fiesta of a holiday following the World Cup in Brazil is now available from Amazon and other online book stores: El Gringo's Once in a Lifetime from MyVoice Publishing.

LONDON - Oct. 2, 2014 - PRLog -- El Gringo's Once in a Lifetime, the eagerly-awaited story of the World Cup in Brazil from a travelling fan, is now published by MyVoice and available worldwide.  From the 2nd October 2014 you can buy it from online retailers like Amazon.  It will take a little longer to appear in book stores.

For the last week we have received emails and calls from fans all over the world asking when the book will be available, so we are delighted they are now able to read the book.  It is the story of the World Cup through the eyes of John Ellis, who decided at the last minute to go and watch the World Cup in Brazil.  A life-long sports fan who has attended over 800 soccer matches, this was the culmination of a dream.  No tickets, but he didn't care.

He managed to see several matches, and watched all the others in the fan fests, arm in arm with fans from all over the world.  Making friends with fans from many countries was the key for John to get tickets to games and indeed the book contains around 200 photos of the fantastic Brazilian scenery, the colourful fans from all over the world and the odd embarrassing snap...

It's a cracker of a book, really capturing the fiesta mood.  This is because John wrote it every day, in stadia, bars, on the beach, in the fan fests, as events unfolded.  It is a diary but reads more like memoirs.  The difference is that John wrote it as soon as it happened, effortlessly capturing the emotions that he and the other fans were feeling at that moment.  It really feels as if you, the reader, are there with him!  The photos are spread through the book, bringing the stories even further to life as you can see the real people as they tell their story.

For it isn't just about John.  It is about hundreds of fans, from over forty countries, their stories, told just after they experienced them when they were still high on the adrenaline rush.  It shows.

If you went to Brazil, you've got to get this book!  You are probably in it.  If not, it will bring it all back to you, the laughter, the smiles, the sun and the beach.  If you didn't go but wished you had, this is the next best thing.  If you are thinking about going to a World Cup or even the Olympics, this is a really useful source of ideas and preparation.  It would probably make an ideal Christmas present for a number of people that you know - but check to see if they have already read it first!  They are unlikely to want to wait that long.

John was interviewed by Verity Cowley on Radio Nottingham on 30th September, and this can be heard on this link: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p026tvsj  Fast forwad to 1 hour 47 minutes.
