Rhino Garcia Foundation and Building For Hope Have Teamed Up To Help Local Residents

SAN ANTONIO - Oct. 2, 2014 - PRLog -- Watch out San Antonio, a new local television show is about to hit the airwaves and will focus on helping homeowners who cannot afford to fix their homes themselves.  The show is called Building For Hope (www.buildingforhope.com) and is a weekly 30-minute show that will air on FOX KABB. The show follows experienced general contractor, Danny Garcia, of Rhino Design Build and his crew as they work together to tackle renovation projects for various non-profit organizations to improve the lives of others.   “This has been a long time goal of mine to be able to help those who are living in homes that don’t meet current building code and need my help” said Garcia.  The show is produced locally by Joe Maldonado and Sol Media Group.  Garcia and Maldonado originally met when they were working together on another local television show back in 2008.  “The timing was perfect.  I was looking for a way to help my local community and then Danny and I crossed paths” said Maldonado.

Mr. Garcia who owns a local construction company called Rhino Design Build, LLC just recently registered his non-profit called:  Rhino Garcia Foundation.  The Foundation will focus on helping local families that are financially challenged and are living in homes that don't meet current building code.  Building For Hope has recently teamed with Catholic Charities and are currently raising funds to help their first client, Mr. Limon. Like many other elderly folks living on a fixed income Mr. Limon has struggled to maintain his home, which is in need of many repairs. Times have been especially hard for him in the summer and winter seasons because his home has no cooling or heating system. Because of this, Mr. Limon has resorted to heating his home with his gas stove during the cold months. Despite having saved some of his small income to afford the upkeep, he had the misfortune of falling victim to fraud at the hands of an untrustworthy home repair provider who failed to deliver on services promised. He also doesn't have running water in his shower and has to heat the water in pots on his stove and transfer them to buckets and take them to the shower in order to bathe.

Building For Hope is currently accepting sponsorship applications and donations.   “We can't do this alone, so we are trying to spread the word about what we are doing in order to get more sponsorship which will help us help more families.”
