Teen Nation Tour Kicks Off National "TimeOut" Bullying Awareness Campaign

Teen Anti-Bullying Music Tours is Kicking off a Brand New Nation Wide Campaign Encouraging Youth to Take a Time-Out Each Day for Bullying Awareness and has Created a “Picture Perfect” Way to do That in Time For National Bullying Prevention Month.

SAN ANTONIO - Oct. 1, 2014 - PRLog -- With Domestic violence on the rise many experts are finding research that proves that kids who are bullies are more likely to become the abuser in domestic violence cases. According to studies led by the Harvard school of Public Health Boys who are raised in homes with domestic violence will portray that behavior in school as a bully and as an abuser as an adult. Studies have also found that bullying in schools is on the rise in epidemic numbers and is having a devastating effect on our youth. Bullying leads to depression, social isolation and suicide, the latter of which is now the third leading cause of death among young people, according to the Centers for Disease Control.

Studies have shown that the most effective way to reach teens, especially regarding bullying, is through other teens, on a peer-to-peer level. Teen Nation artist  are teaming up for this tour to help stop bullying and its long term effects by reaching these youth at the age that the problem begins in hopes to break the cycle.

This is why the Teen Nation Tour decided to take their program another step further by creating a National campaign that would really get the teens involved in Bullying Prevention. Our campaign is created to be a reminder for teens to take a Time Out each day no matter what they are doing to be aware of the bullying issues we have. We have set a goal to have 10,000 timeout photos or videos from all over the US and to also have 15,000 signatures on our digital pledge.

We encourage everyone to take time out for:

*Bullying Awareness

*To Serve others

* To Show kindness

*To Be-friend some one

*To Be an Upstander and more…….

We are asking schools, teens, families and more to join us in this campaign.  Below we have listed some ways to participate and promote:

*Discuss it in your announcements

*Put up posters at school or work

*Have each student sign our pledge card and carry it with them

*Have students, staff and parents all take timeout photos and post on social media and tag @TeenNationTour in them and must include‪#‎TNTTimeout

(the photos can be taken anywhere they like by themselves, in a group, with sports teams, 4-H club, basketball court...the more creative the better)

We will be giving away prizes to students and schools all month long and some of the photos will be selected to be in our new  National Music video!!! We will also be featuring some photos on our website and social media.

If your school wants to participate please email us with details and we can send you posters and pledge cards. Share this on your page and with your friends.

We also ask that the schools get creative with this campaign and maybe award students who you see taking a Timeout to serve other or be an upstander.

About Teen Nation Tour:

The Teen Nation Tour (TNT) is a peer-to-peer community service program and campaign to educate youth about bullying. The message is delivered in a way that students can relate – through music. The powerful 90 minute school assemblies for middle and high school students feature young, emerging recording artists from around the country who perform Top 40, country, pop, and rock hits. Artists volunteer their time to be on the tour and share personal bullying experiences, discuss the types of bullying, and prevention options.

The tour also features a new campaign, Timeout for bullying awareness, to help students cope with and overcome bullying. This year’s tour features many new performers, including former Disney Radio artist Celeste Kellogg, as well seasoned TNT singers like J.Ryan from the X-Factor. A few of the other artists on the tour are include Zach Matari, Katie Belle Akin, Dylan Rey, Simply Rayne, Rylie Lynn, Colton Jacobson, Mason Mercer, Rebelmann, Kristina Lachaga, Gracie and Joey and many more.
