Sara Westbrook Releases Powerful Music Video for “I Am Somebody”

TORONTO - Sept. 30, 2014 - PRLog -- Canadian singer/songwriter and motivational speaker Sara Westbrook has released the long-awaited video for her motivational and inspirational song geared toward young people that calls out, “Hey! I am somebody!” One of the many songs she performs at schools across the country during her UPower concerts, “I Am Somebody” was written to inspire and encourage youth to build confidence and to know that no matter what happens in their life they are always a ‘somebody’.

“As a young person, I had a difficult time dealing with the divorce of my parents, other people’s negative opinions and the eventual death of my dad.  I had low self-esteem, and I felt lost,” said Westbrook. “I quickly learned that music is a powerful way to communicate. ‘I Am Somebody’ speaks to the way most kids feel when they are put down and experience challenging circumstances.”

Performing UPower concerts at schools across the country, Westbrook engages youth by revealing her own vulnerabilities through personal anecdotes and original music.  After experiencing an honest and authentic connection, young people walk away with the strategies they need to boost their confidence, develop resilience, and gain self-respect and respect for those around them. “I want them to know they’re not alone, and that while they may not be able to control everything that happens in their lives, they can control how they choose to act and react.  Our power lies in our choices. I call this our UPower!”
