30th Kohala Country Fair to showcase the best of Big Island – LuxuryBigIsland.com

First held in 1984 as a mahalo to residents who worked at the resorts of the Mauna Lani neighborhood, the Kohala Country Fair is now the biggest country fair on the island, showcasing the best of Big Island’s food, music, art, and culture. Best of all, participants get a taste of the invigorating community vibe as they mingle with residents of the fine neighborhoods in the area.

Entertaining the Kohala Country Fair guests all day long through music, hula, and special performances are: LavaRoots Performing Arts, Hiccup Children's Circus, Hula halau Na Kupuna O Kohala, Robi Kahakalau, Keawe Trio, North Shor Live, Lorenzo's Army, and many more.

Kids and kids at heart can have loads of fun, finding coins hidden in a mountain of whipped cream, pulling ropes in a tug of war, or joining any of the other old-fashioned country fair contests prepared for the event. In addition, there will be inflatable slides, a rock climbing wall, and face-painting.

Booths will also be set up throughout the fair grounds, gathering support fpor residents, businesses and organizations based in North Kohala and on the Big Island. Many of these will provide ono plate lunches, grilled culinary delights, refreshing tropical fruit beverages, sweet treats, farm produce, as well as handicrafts and other locally made goods.
