River Ranch Educational Charities to Operate Texas Horse Park

DALLAS - Sept. 29, 2014 - PRLog -- River Ranch Educational Charities (RREC), one of the main operators at Texas Horse Park, www.texashorsepark.com, will offer a wide range of activities that focus on serving local children, seniors, veterans, conventioneers and the general public when the facility opens this fall.

Just five minutes from downtown, located at 811 Pemberton Hill in Dallas’ Southern sector, in addition to providing outdoor recreation options and miles of beautifully preserved riding trails, this first-class facility will host rodeo events open to the public at reasonable rates. “The Texas Horse Park will also be a destination for private events, large and small,” said Vanessa Fry, Vice President of Operations for the facility.  “Free and discounted programs are a priority and will be offered to under privileged, at-risk and special needs youth and adults from the surrounding communities”.

Texas Horse Park will be a premier, state-of-the-art equine center. The 600-acre park, is part of the Dallas Trinity River Corridor project, and is located adjacent to the Trinity Audubon Center, the Great Trinity Forest and the planned Trinity Golf Course. The venue will include an activity center, three horse barns, a trailhead pavilion, administration facilities and two indoor and outdoor arenas with the largest 105,000 square foot indoor arena scaled to host professional equestrian competitions and rodeos.

“River Ranch Educational Charities is a 501(c)3 charity whose mission is to offer a place where all individuals feel honored, empowered and accepted through the healing experience of horses, animals, community and nature with a special emphasis on serving the underprivileged, at-risk and special needs communities,” says Fry. “Over the past five years, the non-profit organization has donated over $600,000 to local and national non-profits, schools and individuals”.

River Ranch recently donated 30 camp scholarships valued at $9,000 to Stepping Stones Community Services, a south Dallas non-profit that provides enrichment programs for underprivileged and at-risk youth. They are also discussing a large scale, open to the public rodeo event with a date to be announced soon. Discussions include discounted and low-income rates plus free admission for youth under 12.
