Breyer Law Offices announce Westwind Elementary teacher as WINNER of Teacher Appreciation Award
Each month the Phoenix-based law firm Breyer Law, awards one deserving winner with $250 and a classroom lunch party.
Erika Worthington, Westwind Elementary School
With the help of Westwind Elementary principal Natasha Camp, district administrators, fellow staffers, and the entire 7th grade, Mark Breyer surprised Ms. Worthington with an award presentation, a giant check for $250.00, and a pizza party for the entire 7th grade.
“She is caring and loves to teach the students at our school,” stated the winning nomination. “She works with other teachers with one goal in mind; what is best for our students.”
Worthington was recruited from Teach for America, a national teacher corps of recent college graduates, and is in her 2nd year of teaching Science at Westwind Elementary. “She wants the students to be engaged and does whatever it takes to make them become scientists.”
Appreciating the best
All too often great teachers go unrecognized for the hard work and dedication they pour into the classroom. The Breyer’s Teacher Appreciation Award aims to give credit where it is due, by rewarding one amazing teacher each month.
Mark and Alexis, successful attorneys and parents to 8 children, know firsthand the impact a great teacher makes. “I grew up seeing the importance of teachers in communities, and saw firsthand how they give so freely, so their students can thrive,” said Mark Breyer.
