By: Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce A holiday presentation of the musical Wizard of Oz at Surflight Theatre running November 28 through December 21. Take in the holiday shopping of downtown Beach Haven with gourmet shops and local specialty items. “With dozens of special events added to the large selection of unusual and customized gift giving opportunities, our region offers preparing for the upcoming holidays a new lift” states Lori Pepenella, DMO Director “We are working with businesses, attractions and organizations throughout the community to create a palate of simple pleasures throughout the season”. Beginning with Shop Small Saturday on November 29, and going right until end of December; the Southern Ocean County Chamber has comprised a list that encourages visitors to make merry while shopping for specialty items to add to their list. In addition to independent shop offerings, Southern Ocean Chamber Members hope that visitors will purchase gifts that keep giving by bringing friends and family down longer. Taking advantage of special Beach Haven 125th Anniversary Beach Badge or Ship Bottom Holiday Beach Badge Certificates for 2015 season, purchasing theater subscriptions, advance registration for culinary, surf or art classes, even supporting favorite organizations by giving a gift membership. Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center features guides, maps, and local retail information at 265 West Ninth Street in Ship Bottom. It is open all year and updates events and activities on www.visitlbiregion.com and on all social platforms as LBI Region. The Affair at Cedar Bridge December 28 at 2pm in Barnegat at the Cedar Bridge Tavern Historic Site at 200 Old Halfway Road. This free event is open to the public and will feature of the last documented land battle of the Revolutionary war as local re-enactors leading to New Year’s Eve festivities, and overnight packages at Sea Oaks Country Club, and many restaurant and club parties. New Year’s Day bring Fire & Ice Family Fun with a first day celebration January 1 from 1 to 8pm at Tuckerton Seaport with a variety of indoor and outdoor activities.
