A Hundred-Plus Young Musicians Invade Long Island

 
NEW YORK - Sept. 19, 2014 - PRLog -- What:        New York Youth Symphony kicks off its 52nd Season with a weekend long retreat where music students ranging from the age of 12 to 22 will spend time performing, composing and bonding, as they begin preparation for the new season. The orchestra will be rehearsing Beethoven’s Egmont Overture, Stravinsky’s Firebird Suite, and a new work by Cindy Giron, commissioned by the NYYS. These pieces will be performed at Carnegie Hall on November 23rd and the United Palace in Washington Heights on November 9th.

When:       Saturday, September 20 and Sunday, September 21, 2014

Where:      Camp DeWolfe, 408 N Side Rd., Wading River, NY 11792

Visuals:    Multitudes of violins, violas, cellos, flutes, oboes, clarinets, bassoons, trumpets, trombones, among other instruments being chased by conductors, composers, parents and chaperones descending on Long Island to play some of the most beautiful works of music ever written.

Photo and Interview Opportunities:
Live rehearsal performances in a beautiful setting with students celebrating and enjoying the last days of summer. Students and artistic staff will be available for interviews.
