ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Sept. 19, 2014 - PRLog -- Enerpulse Technologies  , makers of Pulstar® with PlasmaCore spark plugs, recently donated nearly $3,000 worth of spark plugs to the Delancey Street Foundation for their fleet of vehicles in Los Angeles. Operating various vocational departments, such as an automotive repair shop, the Delancey Street Foundation has five locations across the U.S. that reintegrates substance abusers and convicted criminals into society through residential rehabilitation and vocational training.

According to Robert Layton, a resident and department head of corporate development for the Delancey Street Foundation location in Los Angeles, Enerpulse’s donation provided a huge boost to the program. “We appreciate friends like Enerpulse who donate products to our cause,” said Layton. Layton points out that Delancey Street Foundation does not accept any government funding.

“In an effort to equip our residents with marketable skills, we have an automotive garage where they are trained to maintain our fleet of vehicles,” explained Latyon. “The residents were responsible for installing Pulstar plugs on our fleet of vehicles, primarily older Saturns that have been driven hard in tough L.A. driving conditions.”

Layton says Delancey Street Foundation’s automotive program is always looking to incorporate new products into its program and was thrilled to test out Enerpulse’s new advancement in spark plug technology. “Great advancements in technology have been made using plasma and we were eager to see what plasma could do in an engine. Already, we’ve seen an improvement in vehicle performance, including quicker starting with less hesitation.”

Pulstar performance expert Al Unser Jr. sent an autographed Pulstar shirt to Delancey Street and applauds its efforts in providing a place for people with nowhere to turn with a place to go for help. “I believe in second chances,” said Unser Jr., “and this is a great organization that is positively influencing the individuals it serves. I applaud the efforts of any organization that gives people access to the resources they need to turn their lives around. I’m proud to be a part of an organization like Enerpulse that also holds these ideals.”
