Appearance of Graffmap bench marks launch of Android app

MONTREAL - Sept. 19, 2014 - PRLog -- To mark the launch of Graffmap’s free android app, #GraffmapBench appeared today in front of a massive mural on the corner of St. Laurent and Avenue des Pins.

“Unlike art in museums, street art is too often the backdrop of our busy daily lives.” explains Graffmap founder Simon Landry.

“The idea behind #GraffmapBench was to give passersby an opportunity to stop, sit, and appreciate this beautiful work of art.”

The appearance of #GraffmapBench marks the release of Graffmap on Android. The app, also available on iOS, is a free way to discover and share street art from around the corner and around the world.

With #GraffmapBench are flyers with information on the mural it faces to encourage a deeper appreciation of the impressive mural created by A’Shop, a Montreal-based artist run collective, in collaboration with the City of Montreal and MURAL festival.
