The Wellness Project Launches to Transform Workplaces with a Creative Approach to Corporate Wellness

The Wellness Project NYC : Simple Changes. Healthier Humans. Better Business.

NEW YORK - Sept. 16, 2014 - PRLog -- New York, NY — The Wellness Project NYC (TWP), a creative consultancy focused on designing customized, effective corporate wellness programs, launched their mission to help employees develop healthy lifestyles. Co-founded by two Holistic Nutritionists with backgrounds in creative arts and digital media, their program marries health and entertainment to promote long-term lifestyle change within the workforce. TWP concentrates on total body wellness and presents it in an engaging and fun fashion. Their goal: to raise health on Earth.

Rolling out an extensive effort to revitalize how wellness and the workplace come together, TWP develops tailored corporate wellness programs with the individual in mind. Supporting big and small businesses alike, TWP leverages the power of Positive Psychology and habit forming to ignite long-term, healthy change in the lives of office workers. Their signature program, titled the “DO it Daily”, walks employees through a gamified, actionable program that, over time, can turn even the most fast food addicted employees into healthier, happier versions of themselves. In addition, TWP offers out-of-the-box wellness workshops that provide relevant content in a fun and exciting manner.

“As time spent at a desk increases and with unhealthy habits at an all-time high, balancing work and personal health has never been as crucial as it is today,” says Rachel Brown, Co-Founder of TWP. “Employers have a major opportunity with corporate wellness. It improve workers’ health, which means more productive days and inspired work, but it also shows their employees that they care about them as human beings.”

In a recent study published in Population Health Management Journal, unhealthy eating habits correlated with a 66% decrease in productivity and irregular physical activity associated with a 50% decrease in productivity.

“Our personal health affects every aspect of our lives, and many people don’t even know how good they can feel,” explains Sarah Jacobs, Co-Founder of TWP. “Health and happiness are so entwined and are pivotal in creating both a thriving personal and professional life.”

A Gallup-Healthways study estimates that unhappiness among workers in the U.S. is costing a whopping $300 billion per year in lost productivity. Gallup-Healthways research more recently uncovered the major oversight in traditional wellness initiatives explaining that focusing on a decrease in the usual, arbitrarily monitored metrics (such as weight loss) does not equate to an increase in actual health. The results that wellness programs could achieve by broadening their approach to a more all-encompassing, holistic program is exponential, and cost-efficient.

TWP is dedicated to changing the corporate wellness conversation. They stray away from standard plug and play programs and challenge the “old-school markers” for health, by instead, taking a mind/body approach and focusing education and action. These key traits set them apart:

●      Personality: Developed by and for young creatives, TWP’s approach is entertaining, and the content is relevant. With a slightly sarcastic tone and a personality rooted in accessibility, each program is tailored to the individual. TWP takes health seriously, but approaches it with a serious sense of humor.

●      Simplicity: No convoluted platforms with unnecessary and underutilized bells and whistles. No need to track steps or schedule doctors’ appointments to continually measure blood pressure. Programs dissect wellness trends and deliver only the most valuable information in an easily digestible, yet engaging format.

●      Hyper-locality: The only program that has partnered with local healthy living companies across the U.S. to give employees access to healthy activities and events near their office. Within the program, employees are urged to take advantage of the best in health and wellness that their city has to offer.

●      Expertise: Founded by two Holistic Nutritional Counselors with a resounding passion to help people be well. Their focus centers on the individual as a whole, and throughout the duration of the program, they lend their expertise to participating employees.

TWP is currently offering discounted rates for corporate wellness programs in cities across the U.S. for all contracts signed in 2014. For research references, to set up a consultation, or inquire about program specifics, visit www.thewellnessprojectnyc.com or reach out to hello @ twpnyc.com.
