ORLAND PARK, Ill. - Sept. 15, 2014 - PRLog -- Honda’s continued commitment to the safety of its drivers and passengers is most recently evidenced by the 2015 Honda Pilot, which recently received a four-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The new Pilot earned four star scores in both the NHTSA’s front crash and rollover crash tests and scored five stars in the side crash test.

At Community Honda in Orland Park, area Honda car buyers will find a full selection of new and pre-owned Honda models, including the 2015 Honda Pilot. Available in LX, EX, SE, EX-L, and Touring trim levels, this eight passenger Honda crossover SUV’s four-star overall safety rating applies to both front-wheel and four-wheel Pilot models.

The 2015 Pilot comes equipped with a vast array of safety features designed to protect those inside the vehicle, starting with utilizing the ACE body structure. This Honda exclusive design enhances the protection of occupants in the case of a frontal collision. The frontal crash force level is reduced and crash energy is evenly distributed throughout the front of the car, which in turn limits the amount of damage.

To help drivers back in and out of parking spaces or driveways more easily, the Pilot comes equipped with a rearview camera. For those with the navigation system, the rearview camera offers wide, normal, and top views to enhance your ability to safely drive in reverse.

The Vehicle Stability Assist with Traction Control system assists the driver in the case that slippage is detected, either from understeering or oversteering. VSA helps get the vehicle back on course.

Working to prevent the brakes from locking up is the Anti-Lock Braking System with Electronic Brake Distribution. Should drivers need to slam on their brakes to avoid a collision, this special modulator pulses the brakes to avoid lockup.

Other standard safety features on the 2015 Honda Pilot include front side airbags and side curtain airbags for all three rows of seating.
