Customer Service-Focused Attorney Seeks Justice For Her Clients

LAS VEGAS - Sept. 14, 2014 - PRLog -- Augusta Massey, Esq., the Managing Member of Massey and Associates Law Firm, has known that she would someday become a lawyer since she was a child. Her father and brother were murdered and their passing inspired her to seek justice and understand how the law works. Today, her practice, located at 7465 W. Lake Mead Blvd #100, Las Vegas, Nevada 89128 offers a host of legal services to people who are often distressed and experiencing difficulties.

“My practice has been driven by the Las Vegas community,” she said. “I meet people who are going through difficult times and it is very rewarding to me to become a part of the solution. I have always had an intense curiosity about how people are affected by the law.”

A graduate of the Cecil C. Humphries School of Law in Memphis, Tennessee, Massey decided to move to Las Vegas in 2008. She began to practice law that same year as an associate in a prestigious law firm in downtown, Las Vegas. Much of her early work in the law consisted of commercial litigation, creditors’ rights, representing debtors in local and national bankruptcy cases, and intellectual property. Bankruptcy quickly became one of her niches.

“When I started practicing law in 2008, Las Vegas had the highest bankruptcy rate in the U.S,” she said. “I gained a lot of experience in that aspect of the law and it has continued to be a big part of what I do to help people.”

Massey started her own firm in 2012 so she could share her customer service-focus with more clients. Her firm helps a lot of individuals going through bankruptcy or debt negotiation and new businesses with contracts, negotiations, expansion, growth and litigation. In addition to these areas, Massey has expanded her practice to include probate matters, wills and trusts, and minor traffic matters.

Massey also brings her customer service-focus to her community. She is  appointed by the Nevada Supreme Court as a foreclosure mediator and has served in this capacity since 2009. Massey also serves on a variety of boards and local organizations and often donates her time as a guest attorney on local radio. She has been recognized by the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada for her pro bono work and highlighted in Nevada Lawyer Magazine and the Las Vegas Chapter of the National Bar Association for her commitment to diversity.

“I take the time to listen and I try to put myself in my client’s shoes,” she said. “It is important to treat people with empathy and to give them more than they are asking for.”
