MARIETTA, Ga. - Sept. 12, 2014 - PRLog -- Dirty South TV is proud to announce that Jimmy Galloway will be on The Electric Lunch Hour Friday, September 19th, from 12:00 - 2:00 pm.

Jimmy Galloway has played music most of his life. Being influenced early on by Chet Atkins and Mark Knopfler, he was drawn to fingerstyle guitar. He toured the Southeast playing clubs, festivals and colleges after graduating from UNC-Asheville with a Music degree in Recording where he studied under electronic music visionary Dr Robert Moog. Not one to stay still, Jimmy moved to Nashville,TN in '97 and hooked up with several groups playing various stringed instruments and doing sessions. After spending 5 years on the road at 150-200 shows a year, it was time to slow down and focus on writing for his first original material. The EP "Waiting for the Fall" is a result of that (c2008) and the full length record "Symbols" (c2012) is available now athttp://jimmygalloway.bandcamp.com/album/symbols.

"Symbols" is a first as Jimmy wrote, played, engineered and produced most of the record himself.

He now teaches at the Atlanta Institute of Music as an instructor for all levels of the Acoustic Guitar program, excited at sharing with people his unique style and philosophy to creating music.

His style is a mixture of folk based americana, roots rock, fusion, psychedelia and the ambient work of 20th century avant garde composers.

Jimmy cites Richard Thompson, Mark Knopfler, Jimmy Page, Chet Atkins, George Harrison, David Lindley, Michael Hedges, Mike Campbell, and The Edge as major influences- and the late Atlanta picker John Madden as a great mentor and friend.

Jimmy has shared the stage with: Col. Bruce Hampton, Edwin McCain, Shawn Mullins, Sister Hazel, The Waybacks, Driving N Cryin, Derek Trucks, Patty Griffin, Marty Stuart, Butch Walker, Warren Haynes, Aquarium Rescue Unit, and many others.

Festivals and stages include Cayamo, Memphis in May, Riverbend Festival, Bele Chere Fest, Rick's Cafe, Exit/ In, 3rd & Lindsley, 12th& Porter, Douglas Corner, Gaylord Arena, Opryland, Eddie's Attic, Red Light Cafe, 9:30 Club, and many many others....
