Brian Chase of Bisnar | Chase Named OCTLA's Products Liability Trial Lawyer of the Year
Brian D. Chase, senior partner with the Newport Beach personal injury law firm of Bisnar | Chase, has been named Trial Lawyer of the Year under the Products Liability category by the Orange County Trial Lawyers Association (OCTLA).
The Orange County Trial Lawyers Association (OCTLA) has named Brian Chase Trial Lawyer of the Year for products liability. According to the organization's website, Chase is one of five Orange County lawyers, to receive this distinction and the only attorney to be honored in the "products liability" category.
OCTLA has issued a statement saying that the attorneys who have received these awards "have demonstrated exceptional trial skills, commitment to their clients, and dedication to the principles of legal ethics and preserving access to the civil justice system." All award recipients will be honored at OCTLA's Top Gun Trial Lawyer of the Year Awards Program Nov. 22 at the Montage in Laguna Beach.
According to OCTLA's website, the awards honor trial attorneys who have shown outstanding trial skills over the past 12 months. Those nominated for these awards must not only prove their courage and commitment to their clients, but also demonstrate truly exceptional skill, ability, preparation and professionalism to obtain outstanding results on behalf of their clients.
"It is an honor to receive this award from the Orange County Trial Lawyers Association for the second time," said Chase, who was an award recipient under the products liability category in 2004 as well. "I accept this award on behalf of the entire Bisnar | Chase team. We work together as a team and a family and without each and everyone's commitment our firm would not have had these remarkable results."
Chase said he is particularly pleased to receive the Top Gun award in the products liability category. "I consider it an honor to be able to represent those who have been catastrophically injured due to the negligence of an automaker or another product manufacturer that continually place profits over safety. As large corporations, these companies have teams of well-paid defense lawyers at their beck and call. The average person who does not have such resources at his or her disposal counts on us to get justice and fair compensation."
Brian Chase, a Pepperdine School of Law graduate, has litigated dozens of jury trials obtaining judgments and settlements exceeding $100 million. Chase obtained $24.7 million in an auto defect case for a client who was catastrophically injured in an accident that left her paralyzed. In March 2014, an appellate court upheld that $24.7 verdict. Chase has also handled cases involving defective seats, faulty seatbelts, rollover and roof crush accidents, defective airbags, defective fuel tanks/fuel fed fires, and tire tread separation. In 2012, Chase got the Consumer Attorney of the Year Award from the Consumer Attorneys Association of California (CAOC). He was a Trial Lawyer of the Year Nomine in 2012 by the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles (CAALA). He is also a past president of OCTLA and current president-elect of CAOC.
