Who they were, what they thought, and what moved them so powerfully is told in the language of universals.

The fusion of romance and realism embedded in the Victorian age and the writing style exemplified in the book brings about realism as events unfold. But ultimately, the book is also the unconventional love story of the central character, Singleton.

About the Author

Henk Rall grew up in the Northern Cape of South Africa in the area described in this historical novel. He is a medical doctor who has worked on four continents, and presently lives in Cape Town. He holds advanced degrees in literature and medicine, and has published poetry, short stories and novels, as well as scientific papers in international medical journals. He is listed in The International Who’s Who of Intellectuals. This is his 11th book.
