2,986 Visitors to date and counting…but where are the donations?

Crowdfunding campaigns desperately need contribution leaders
 
MILAN - Sept. 9, 2014 - PRLog -- Riz & Marlena SRL, a developing, affordable fashion brand, has had over 2,900 visitors to their crowdfunding campaign but is still waiting for donations.

The crowdfunding campaign, titled “Fashion for Everyone” went live on August 29, 2014 and both partners, Marlena Guzowski from Canada and Rizwan Zafar from Pakistan, had very high hopes as visitors to their campaign increased daily. However, at day 10, and with almost 3,000 campaign visitors but only 3 donors, they are growing a little disappointed.

“We tried to make our campaign as interactive and engaging as possible, and I feel that we’ve succeeded since visitors keep arriving. However, the donations don’t match the viewers. It’s almost like everyone wants to donate to campaigns that others are already donating to…everyone is waiting to grab onto a cool new trend, no one wants to start it, and we desperately need trendsetters to get this going.”  commented Guzowski, when asked about why she thought donations weren’t coming in.

Zafar, added, “We know there’s many campaigns out there and ours may be just a tiny drop in a huge pool but we want to help preserve and raise the quality of the middle class by creating high quality products which are actually affordable. We truly believe that we can do this and our goal is both great and achievable.”

They both feel that people believe in their vision also, as the campaign viewership suggests, but the problem with crowdfunding campaigns is that everyone wants to add success to already succeeding campaigns. When people see mediocre donations they are less likely to donate. This is actually counterproductive to what crowdfunding should be and many campaigns, which are worthy, fail because the people running the campaign simply do not have enough family and friends willing and financially able, to plump up the funding in the first couple of days.

They are asking people to think outside of the box, and not just for the sake of their campaign
