BlackBench Fit Targets Untapped Market by Expanding Its Unique Approach to Fitness into Yoga
New offering brings purpose, safety and a personal approach to the ancient practice

BBF Yoga will follow the company’s unique training approach of 8-week progressive programming bringing a personalized touch to every member’s experience. Classes are designed to be used alone or integrated into a workout routine to help achieve increased flexibility, strength and balance, injury reduction, relaxation and mental awareness of mind and body.
“Like all of our workouts, BBF Yoga classes will never be random or generic,” said Trish Drennan, co-owner of BlackBench Fit. “Our classes are designed to bring members a very personalized experience to a practice that is often treated in a very generic manner. At BBF, every class has a personal training element. Like our adult fitness members and athletes, yoga members will build a relationship with their instructor to help identify specific goals, address injuries or imbalances and challenge them to move to the next level. All classes will follow a methodology that is purposeful, while focusing on structural alignment and integrity.”
BlackBench Fit has hired yoga instructor Megan Elliott, who has a wide range of teaching experience and accreditations, including Kripalu Yoga Teacher Training, 500 hour Integrative Yoga Therapy, Certified Yoga for Athletes teacher, Strength and Conditioning trainer, Reiki Master, and Thai Yoga Bodyworker. Elliott spent eight years at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health as part of its Yoga, Healthy Living, R&R and Healing Arts teams.

BlackBench Fit has created three types of yoga classes, each designed to address a specific need and objective. They include:
Restore is ideal to help alleviate high impact demands on joints and muscles, reduce chronic pain, recover from an injury and/or encourage rest from a high stress work week. Poses are held for longer periods of time in either simple floor poses or with the support of props, allowing chronically contracted muscles and soft tissue to reset back to their natural balanced, toned and lengthened state. Minimal strength work; all fitness levels welcome.
Prime is perfect for anyone who wants to balance out hard workouts during the week, for someone who wants to build a sustainable yoga practice, or both.
This class is great for newbies and novices alike, providing a well-rounded workout of strength, flexibility and balance at an easier pace. Prime offers a lower impact yoga than Vigor, with simpler postures and more instruction. All fitness levels welcome.
Vigor is a great cross training option for those who are looking for a more athletic approach to yoga. This class is perfect as a low impact addition to balance your week or a challenging workout on its own. This class offers muscle activation and joint stability, as well as flexibility, balance and focus. Vigor is a challenging class combining holds and moving postures that build in complexity. Designed for intermediate to advanced fitness levels.
