They make a tremendous difference in the lives of those impacted by age, illness or disability and it is important to recognize them and show appreciation for what they do,” says Caroline Brereton, CEO, Mississauga Halton CCAC, adding “the Heroes in the Home Awards is just one way we can say thank you.” The Heroes in the Home Awards recognize family members, friends, neighbours, co-workers, community volunteers, personal support workers, care coordinators, nurses, therapists and other health professionals who have made a difference in someone’s life. There is no limit to the number of Heroes you can recognize. Since 2010, the Mississauga Halton CCAC has honoured 395 caregiving Heroes throughout South Etobicoke, Mississauga, Oakville, Halton Hills and Milton.
