OAKLAND, Calif. - Sept. 10, 2014 - PRLog -- Oakland, California is a hotbed of new tech, startups, small business, services, non-profits and interesting products – so come on out and show off! All types of products and businesses are invited to showcase products at any stage of progress. Whether you are just starting out, or are working on new products, this is an opportunity to present to a friendly audience of peers. A panel of experts and investors will give you honest feedback.

An effective product demo, given at a conference, sales calls, and online is a key aspect to being able to sell your product. Whether you are in early development, close to release or working on new products, this evening is an opportunity for Oakland-based developers to showcase your product or service to a friendly audience of peers and a panel of experts who will give you honest feedback.

This event, sponsored by 2.Oakland, is also a great chance to network, learn about and be inspired by what your fellow Oakland innovators are doing. There will be food, drink, and plenty of time to network with fellow entrepreneurs and local funders!

Rani Croager is co-founder of Uptima Business Bootcamp (http://www.uptimabootcamp.com/), a member-owned business accelerator based in Oakland. Uptima supports entrepreneurs in lauching, going to market, funding and scaling their businesses, and encourages them to think holistically about the role of their business in the community.  Prior to founding Uptima, Rani was a founding team member and vice president of Altius Education where she raised over $30 million in venture capital to fund development of the company’s educational ecosystem.  Rani began her career as a successful investment banker focused on financings, mergers and acquisitions for leading technology companies.  Rani has extensive experience supporting early stage entrepreneurs as an organizer, coach and judge for numerous hackathons and startup challenges.  Rani also serves as a board member of Qeyno Labs (http://www.qeyno.com/) and The Learning Shelter (http://thelearningshelter.org/), and as a steering committee member of 2.Oakland (http://twopointoakland.com/).

Jason Monberg CEO of Presence (http://www.presencepg.com/). He is a product executive, entrepreneur, investor, and start-up advisor with 18 years of experience leading product strategy, development, and consulting for consumer and enterprise software products. Prior to Presence Jason was the vice president of product management for MarkLogic where he was responsible for product strategy and vision. He helped grow the company to an $80 million annual run rate. Prior to MarkLogic, Jason was vice president of application products at Composite Software, a leading provider of data virtualization software, where he was part of the founding team that grew annual revenue from zero to over $20 million, acquired by CIsco. Before Composite Software, Jason was president and founder of Carbon Five, a consulting firm specializing in agile software development for fortune 500 clients and start-ups. Jason has founded three other start-ups, raising over $20 million in funding, and has acted as a start-up advisor for companies such as Balsamiq and BluGloss. Jason holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Wesleyan University. When not deep in work, Jason believes in unplugging and spending time with his wife and three kids.

Rick Moss is Managing Director and Founder of Better Ventures (http://www.better.vc/).  He thrives on solving customer development challenges for startups and spends most of his waking hours at the whiteboard.  He has 18 years of technology, entrepreneurship and corporate venture capital experience with Oracle, Sun Microsystems, Computer Sciences Corporation, The Modem Shop (which he founded) and Kleiner Perkins-backed WineShopper.com (acquired byWine.com).  He holds a BA from Trinity College and an MBA from the Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth College.  Rick believes passionately that technology should be used to address the world’s most important problems.  Rick lives in Oakland, CA with his wife and two kids, is an avid cyclist and a craft beer enthusiast.
