Since 1965, this connection has flourished, thanks to tariff-free access and the resulting efficiency gains from increased economies of scale. Industry experts with experience on both sides of the border will examine where the relationship is headed within an increasingly complex global industry structure.

Michael Robinet -
Managing Director of IHS Automotive Consulting
Michael Robinet, is a leader and innovator in global production forecasting, analyzing vehicle/component sourcing and production strategies to serve OEM, supplier, financial and government entities throughout the industry.

Michael’s field of expertise includes global vehicle product and capacity forecasting, future product program intelligence, platform consolidation and globalization trends, trade flow/sourcing strategies, and OEM footprint and logistics trends. He also helped design the world’s first contiguous database designed to forecast sales, production, and sourcing linkages for the global automotive industry.

Mr. Robinet has over two decades of experience in automotive forecasting, strategic analysis and manufacturing finance. Before joining IHS, he was Vice President, Global Vehicle Forecasts at CSM Worldwide and worked with research companies and a major tier one supplier. Michael has a B.Com. International and Developmental Economics and MBA, University of Windsor, Canada. He is a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and a member of the Automotive Press Association (APA).  Michael is a board member of the Society of Automotive Analysts (SAA), founding director of the Canada-US Business Association (CUSBA), a member of the Detroit Economic Club (DEC) as well as a participant on  the Canadian Automotive Partnership Council's (CAPC) Trade and Infrastructure Committee. He is a board member of the Original Equipment Suppliers
Association (OESA).

Laurie Harbour - President and Chief Executive Officer of Harbour Results.
Lauris Harbour is experienced in strategic planning, benchmarking, operational assessments, lean manufacturing and performance enhancement.

Laurie works closely with automotive and manufacturing companies on analyzing their strengths and weaknesses, identifying existing gaps and risks and developing a strategic transformation process to achieve sustainable improvements, ultimately mitigating risk and improving the health of organizations.

Ms. Harbour assists companies develop short and long term strategies, improve operations, and reducing risks. She visits hundreds of manufacturing plants each year capturing best practices and driving project results.

Prior to Harbour Results, Laurie founded Harbour-Felax Group and was Vice President and company officer at Harbour Consulting. She was involved in numerous consulting projects with global-automotive manufacturers, tier-one suppliers and the defense industry and provided analysis and counsel in operations improvement, product and process development, competitive research and benchmarking. Laurie was responsible for development and management of The Harbour Report, the landmark study of labor efficiency for automotive OEMs.

Ms. Harbour has a BA from the University of Michigan-Dearborn in Operations Management and Human Resources. She is the current Chairman of Society of Automotive Analysts and sits on the board of a Tier II automotive supplier and MAPP, a plastics processor association.
