Boys & Girls Clubs Of Monterey County’s Day For Kids: A Free Family Event Celebrating Active Play

Special Event Encourages Adults to Spend Meaningful Time with Kids

MONTEREY, Calif. - Sept. 5, 2014 - PRLog -- Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County’s (BGCMC) annual Day for Kids event will take place on Saturday Sept. 20th from 11am to 2pm at the BGCMC Salinas Clubhouse, 85 Maryal Drive (located behind the Salinas Sports Complex). This is a FREE community event featuring Games & Activities, Performances, a Community Resource Fair, Food, and a Farmer’s Market.  The event encourages adults to spend meaningful time with children, and engage in fun and active play.

As part of a nationwide initiative, Day for Kids is helping elevate the issue of a happy, healthy childhood and the importance of offering a positive path for youth in local communities. This event fosters creativity, imagination, and exploration while helping kids discover and develop various skills.

“BGCMC’s Day for Kids creates an opportunity for adults in our community to ‘Pledge to Play’ in our event to foster stronger relationships, spending meaningful time with local youth,” says Donna Ferraro, BGCMC President and CEO.  “While our Day for Kids event is just one day, we hope to enable youth year-round to reach their full potential by offering support, programs and a safe and healthy environment to prosper and thrive in the Salinas Valley and greater Monterey County.”
