ZingyWalks - a fun architectural walk event in New Delhi by ZingyHomes was a huge success!

DELHI, India - Sept. 5, 2014 - PRLog -- Sunday, August 31st 2014 saw the confluence of architecture lovers and those wishing to discover/rediscover the capital at what is being called “ZingyWalks”. An enthusiastic group of 150 ZingyWalkers wearing red caps and ZingyWalker bags were seen exploring medieval, colonial and modern architecture in the heart of the capital, braving the heavy morning rains. The walk which starts at Jantar Mantar in CP and covers the iconic LIC building, the colonial hang-out Regal, the ancient-medieval architecture of the Hanuman Mandir, the mesmerising landscapes by architect Pradeep Sachdeva, Gurudwara Bangla Sahib and Sacred Heart Cathedral.

The walk covers a distance of approx 3 km in 5 hours and takes you through a detailed tour of some of the city's iconic architecture and how it has evolved through the ages, with interesting facts and anecdotes.

ZingyWalks are fun, informative and engaging and are laced with quizzes and contests to break through the monotony. You can get to see the buildings you never had a chance to visit and know more about the architecture and engineering behind them. The group included photographers, architecture students and those who wanted to explore the city beyond the usual sight seeing spots.

The concept is innovative and modeled after the architectural tours which are commonplace in most world class cities. They not only expose you to the techniques and vision behind the city's architecture but also introduce you and get you up close and personal with top architects in the country. Each walk features Breakfast with the Architect where you can hear them speak of their projects and take your questions.
