Research Engineer is launched by Scalë, LLC

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Sept. 4, 2014 - PRLog -- Eric Heidel, Ph.D., an Assistant Professor of Biostatistics in the Department of Surgery at the University of Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine, has started a new online company, Scalë, LLC. Scalë’s first website, Research Engineer, is a free online decision engine that expedites the precision and accuracy of applied empirical, statistical, epidemiological, diagnostic, and survey methodologies for researchers of all experience levels.  Eric says:

“I’m living the American dream.  Starting a business with an original idea and creating something that has never existed before…it means the world to me.”

In only two weeks, the website has generated some 5,200 hits with over 6,700 page views.  Scale’s Facebook page has also generated over 1,000 “likes.” Research Engineer can be accessed at www.scalelive.com.  The website provides a user-friendly interface with simple point-and-click applications focused on helping researchers create research questions, choose research designs, run power analyses, conduct statistics, manage databases, utilize evidence-based medicine practices, design valid survey instruments, apply psychometrics, calculate epidemiological measures, and assess diagnostic efficacy.
