The first community fitness competition in the U.K. launches in West London
By: W10 Performance
The founder Jean-Claude Vacassin explains: "We started the W10 Games because we wanted to provide a platform for our W10 community to test themselves physically and mentally, whilst at the same time having a bit of fun, and connecting with likeminded others in our community. We had tried a couple of outdoor mud run and obstacle course events previously, and whilst everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day out, it wasn't the right fit for everyone, the events didn't really pull the group together as we had imagined they would, and it certainly wasn't something that people wanted to repeat! We needed to come up with something that ticked all of these boxes.”
The games are not designed to pitch the best athletes against each other – the attendees have varying fitness levels - but the events are designed to be challenging and to provide everyone with a focussed, and slightly competitive outlet.
Vacassin, who hosts the event at the local personal training gym W10 Performance continues: “We also know that people lose enthusiasm when it comes to exercise if they do not have something to train for. This can be a sporting or social event, and birthday and health concern whatever, but we all need a reason to exercise, or we won't do so consistently;
Above all else, the afternoon is designed to be a bit of fun and to bring the W10 community together.
W10 Games take place on the 11th of October 2014 at 3pm – 6pm at W10 Performance Gym, 202 – 208 Kensal Road, London W10 5BN
