One Image, Inc. Gives Back at Hands On Nashville Charity Event

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Sept. 3, 2014 - PRLog -- One Image, Inc. team members took some time out from the office on August 10, 2014, to put their green thumbs to use. The urban farm supported by Hands On Nashville required attention and so the firm’s associates came prepared to complete gardening chores including planting, weeding, and harvesting.

One Image, Inc. Support Urban Farming While Contributing to the City of Nashville

Andrew K., CEO of One Image, Inc., saw involvement with Hands On as an opportunity to give back to the community: "This event was important to us because we love our city and enjoy supporting green projects. The gardens at Hands On offer those living in the community the chance to learn to prepare, harvest, and taste fresh produce. It allows for healthier options for people who may reduce their budgets by eating processed products—which are not as healthy as fresh food."

Hands On Nashville runs the urban farm as a private and public partnership with the Mayor's Office and Metro Nashville Parks and Recreation. "There are neighborhoods in Nashville lacking access to fresh food," explained Andrew. "The urban farm allows these residents to secure great produce and teaches them how to grow it in their own yards or community gardens. This supports the health of individuals in the community while also ensuring new ways to produce food locally—which is less burdensome on the environment in terms of transportation costs and resources."

Team members Taylor, Lindsey, Nicole, Justin, and Justin all joined Andrew to help with gardening work and enjoy the outdoors. "Few things improve company morale than spending time outside the office with your colleagues," said Andrew. "Charitable endeavors not only support bonding between people but help them feel proud of where they work. In fact, 72% of workers prefer being involved in companies that promote volunteering; this is a great cause that helps us all feel good about our efforts!"

Andrew plans on returning to the Hands On Nashville Urban Farm with the team to help out in the future. "We enjoyed our time working in the sun," he stated.
