WASHINGTON - Aug. 26, 2014 - PRLog -- The Maryland, DC, and Virginia Solar Energy Industries Association (MDV-SEIA), DC Office of the People's Council, Councilmembers Cheh, Grosso, and Wells, and other parties have sent letters to Chairman Kane at the PSC to inquire about the rulemaking process for the Community Renewable Energy Amendment Act of 2013. In the letter from DC Councilmembers, a status report has been requested by September 5, 2014, outlining the Commission's efforts thus far to implement CREA and its established schedule for achieving full implementation of the law.

CREA builds upon D.C.’s effective renewable energy policies and programs and creates explicit opportunities for those unable to install on-site renewable energy systems. As a result of the delayed regulations release, MDV-SEIA is aware of more than 12.3MW of projects that have been placed on hold spanning across all Wards in the city. With the District’s aggressive Renewable Portfolio Standard, the implementation of this many megawatts of solar will significantly impact our ability to reach predetermined goals. MDV-SEIA is encouraged by these letters and looks forward to hearing the PSC's response.
