By: Paw City, LLC “Max & Wrigley™” is based on the award-winning children’s book series “Read With Max™.” “Max & Wrigley™” will focus on social as well as emotional issues. The focus of the productions will be early childhood education for children ages four to eight. All content will be family-friendly and will involve national educational standards with an emphasis on lessons in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). "Max and Wrigley™" has been registered as a Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) signatory production to allow for credited talent and help with national distribution. The character “Maverick” Paul Paliyenko is a professional actor with considerable experience performing on stage, screen, radio and audiotape as an actor and improviser in Boston and North Carolina. He is also an award-winning producer, director, cinematographer and sound designer with hundreds of film, video and audio producing and directing credits in Boston as well as nationally and internationally. Paul’s humorous broadcast promo, Play-by-Play, for The Learning Channel series Robotica premiered during the 2002 AFC Championship Game, then aired during Super Bowl XXXVI. Paul trained in acting with Michael Shurtleff, Jeannie Lindheim and Bill Young; in improvisation with Keith Johnstone, Nadette Stasa and Adam Felber; and in voice, speech and movement with Leigh Smiley, Daisette McKelvie and Annie Thompson. Paul has provided voiceovers for numerous corporate and commercial clients, including Boston Museum of Science, GlaxoSmith Kline, The Harvard Coop, Rhode Island Red Cross, Silver Burdett Guinn, SportsChannel and Welch’s. His most recent screen credit is the role of the middle school teacher in Harbinger, an independent short film that premiered in July 2014. Paul has also performed in a variety of corporate, educational and commercial productions for clients ranging from AT&T, Hewlett-Packard and Morgan Stanley to M. I. T. and Duke University. His North Carolina professional stage credits include August: Osage County and Barefoot in the Park for Theatre Raleigh’s Hot Summer Nights. In addition, Paul has been a member of Burning Coal Theatre Company since 2009, having performed in their highly acclaimed productions of To Kill a Mockingbird andtheAmerican professional theatre premieres ofWay to Heaven/Camino al Cielo (performed in English and Spanish) and David Edgar’s The Prisoner’s Dilemma. He also performs as guest narrator with the Mallarmé Chamber Players, stock performer with It's a Mystery, and lead actor and director of Constitutional Tales. Paul performed improvisation in Boston for many years with the U. S. Improvisational Theatre League (USITL). As a founding member of the USITL, he coached the U. S. team in the 1992 Fifth Annual World Cup of Improv at the Spectrum in Montreal, Canada. This first-ever English-language exhibition match with the premier Quebecois team was broadcast live nationwide across Canada on the CTV network. He is currently working with a new improv troupe at Moonlight Stage Company in Raleigh. Paul was invited to be a guest director by the Kennedy Middle School in Somerville, MA to prepare three students' performance of their original play, The White Rose Project, to present in Washington, DC at the National History Day Final Competition. With only four rehearsals, the students went on to win the 1996 National Championship in the Junior Division Performance and Presentation. He was a frequent guest presenter for the Conservatory workshops of the Boston SAG-AFTRA chapter focusing on the process of auditioning and casting as well as improvisation for the actor. Paul has held appointments teaching film production at Boston University and Emerson College.
