Aug. 26, 2014 - PRLog -- If Beacon Hill could talk, it would tell you stories — stories of unique individuals and groups, past and present — who’ve had a lasting impact on the community throughout its history.  Beacon Hill resident Karen Cord Taylor shares many of these stories in her new local history book, Legendary Locals of Beacon Hill.  Karen, whom many of you know as a neighbor as well as from her weekly columns in the Beacon Hill Times, will be hosted by Blackstone’s of Beacon Hill on Thursday, September 11, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm for a book signing. Guests will be treated to a fall welcome-back reception with refreshments.

“When writing this book, I was asked which legends I enjoyed researching most,” says Karen, “and I would have to say it was the long-time residents of Beacon Hill, who are characters and had great stories to tell.”  Taylor hopes the book will show how Beacon Hill residents view the past while describing the people who will become history in the future.

“Since Karen’s book is about the neighborhood and its residents, it makes perfect sense to give back to the neighborhood,” says Jennifer Hill, co-owner of Blackstone’s at 46 Charles St.  “We will donate the net proceeds from the event to the Beacon Hill Civic Association.”
