Follow on Google News | Kick Dance Studios Celebrates Grand Opening In Fair Haven By Raising Funds For Alex's Lemonade StandKick Dance Studio Owner Vanessa Berry purchased her first studio in 2001. Today, she owns three studios with locations in Fair Haven and Rumson. Her new location features two large dance rooms, a convenient parking lot, and proximity to kid-friendly businesses. Team bonding is a theme for Kick in 2014-2015 and the new studio location offers many opportunities for her students to socialize. Since its founding, Kick has grown from 60 to 500 students, driven mainly by referrals. Kick is the only dance studio in New Jersey to receive the More Than Just Great Dancing accreditation and Team Kick has won numerous awards in regional competitions including Best Choreography, Overall High Score, Most Entertaining, Most Moving and Team Spirit. Recently, Kick received the exciting news that several of its students, ages 9-13, will perform in the Disney Christmas Day Parade to air on ABC. Berry’s students are most proud however of the more than $100,000 they have raised for charities via recitals, competitions, and smaller fundraisers throughout the year. This September, Kick’s students will host a fundraiser for charity by selling costumes from past performances for dress up and Halloween. “My hopes and dreams for my students are that they love dance, whether they enjoy watching it or dancing. It’s just about having a love for the art form,” says Berry. “Beautiful dancing is more than just gorgeous feet. It’s about instilling confidence and strength in children. I could not be prouder of my students' accomplishments, in and out of the Kick studio.” In addition to weekly classes, Berry introduces her students to the biggest and brightest talents in professional dance during her annual workshops. Recent guests have included Jessica Castro of America’s Got Talent who has danced with Beyonce and the Black Eyed Peas, Daisy Hobbs of Disney's Aladdin, and Aaron Albano from Newsies. Berry feels it’s important for her students to meet professionals so they can build their own confidence, be inspired to improve, and just have fun. Castro recently shared with the dancers that she had not started dancing until the age of 19. These special guests teach the children they can follow their passion for dance at any age.
