PeerTV to unveil H265 HEVC High Efficiency Video Coding OTT set top box at IBC 2014

LONDON - Aug. 26, 2014 - PRLog -- PeerTV announced today that it will be attending the IBC expo (http://www.ibc.org/) in Amsterdam in September, where it will display a fully working example of its latest breed of OTT set top box, which includes both H265 high efficiency video coding and quad core processors.

In OTT STB (http://www.peertv.com/#!become-a-partner/cfvg) technology terms, the company believes it is now able to offer a market leading platform. PeerTV (http://www.peertv.com/) CEO Avi Vermus said, “Our combination of Android powered quad core processors allied to H265 compression technology means we can now offer content providers a leading edge solution requiring half the bandwidth of most OTT set top boxes, whilst simultaneously offering a far higher quality of picture and sound output. This is now a fully tested production ready unit.”

The company has already signed equipment supply deals with content distributors and OTT providers serving the US, Russian, Polish and Irish markets.

Other enhancements include a games adapter, allowing Android games designed for touch screen to be played with a standard remote control or external joystick/gamepad and upgrades have been made in the area of advanced apps and TV integration, enabling seamless delivery of TV, whilst gaming or running apps such as Facebook, browsers and other web pages.
