On the last Wednesday and last Thursday of each month, the “Neighborhood Memory Café” will be hosted by the two cafés noted above – as a place where individuals and their care-partners living through Alzheimer’s and other types of dementia will find support and fellowship. Being forgetful or behaving differently is embraced rather than viewed as unusual.
Inside the Neighborhood Memory Café, serving love is the celebrated routine. Relax and chat while enjoying refreshing drinks, delicious coffee and healthy snacks (at no cost). Caregivers and their loved ones can listen to music, create a keepsake, win a fabulous door prize, and benefit from an activity – all while in the comfort of those walking in the same shoes.
When you engage the arts, you touch the heart of a person. It’s like giving them a hug without expectations. Our Neighborhood Memory Cafés are a community co-op made possible through the donations of sponsors in caregiving and healing roles, and through small corporate sponsorships. Thanks to this community co-op, new memories can be created while family and friends love one another through life’s toughest journeys at Neighborhood Memory Café.
