OMAHA, Neb. - Aug. 25, 2014 - PRLog -- August 25, 2014:  The Laura Ingalls Wilder Legacy and Research Association today announced its call for papers for "LauraPalooza 2015: Through Laura's Eyes," to be held on the campus of South Dakota State University in Brookings on July 16-17, 2015. The conference, which is the only academic and fan gathering of its kind, seeks paper, panel, and workshop proposals that apply 2015's theme to the literary, historical, and cultural impact of Laura Ingalls Wilder.

Scholars, writers, professionals, and fans are welcome to submit proposals for the conference through December 5, 2014. Proposals are also being accepted for Camp Laura, an activity-based conference for elementary school children that runs concurrently with the main conference. Proposals should interpret the theme "Through Laura's Eyes" and may touch upon illustrations of the Little House series of books, imagery within the books, and any other interpretation of the legacies of the Ingalls and Wilder families on American history, culture, and literature.

"Laura Ingalls Wilder's eye on American literature and culture was unique indeed," says Barbara Mayes Boustead, 2015 conference co-chair. "We look forward to seeing how potential conference speakers view life through Laura's lens." Conference selections and speakers will be announced in February 2015, when LauraPalooza registration will also begin.

Those interested in submitting a proposal should send their 700- to 1000-word abstract and 200-word bio via email to by December 5, 2014. The full call for proposals can be viewed at
