FORT PAYNE, Ala. - Aug. 25, 2014 - PRLog -- Ider’s annual Mule Day is set to return to the mountaintop town bringing with it a day of fun and games to the Labor Day holiday. Set for September 1, 2014, Ider Mule Day is a one day family-friendly festival centered around the town’s agricultural heritage and along with mules, tractors, and horses, there will be a parade, live music, activities for children and special guest appearances by Chief Steven Jones and Officer Donald Givens of Fat Cops.

This year’s Ider Mule Day kicks off at 9:30 a.m. with a parade featuring mules, horses, carriages, antique cars and tractors. At 11 a.m., the competitions get underway. The mule pull gets things started followed by a draft horse show, a trail competition, and a wagon and buggie show.

The 2014 Ider Mule Day welcomes Chief Jones (The Boss) and Officer Givens (Big Sexy) of the CMT reality show Fat Cops. Festivalgoers can look forward to special meet and greet and photo opportunities with the television stars throughout the day. Fat Cops is a reality show following the on and off-duty antics of the Trinity, Texas police department that is aired on CMT.

The daylong event also offers an antique engine and tractor display, an antique tractor pull, arts and crafts, and inflatables and games for children. A great entertainment line-up featuring Justin Chain from season 5 of The Voice, the Willie Underwood Family, Marry Ann Hammonds, Jeff White, and Butch Reeves will keep festivalgoers on their feet and plenty of barbeque, homemade ice cream, and other food vendors will be available for purchase.

A donation of $2 at the gate is suggested. All activities are held in and around Ider Town Park located off of Highway 75 at 183 Sweet Gum Road. Pets are not allowed inside of the park.
