King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Centre managed by Hilton Celebrates World Environment Day

Aug. 24, 2014 - PRLog -- DEAD SEA, Jordan – August 24, 2014 – King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Centre managed by Hilton (“KHBTCC”) recently celebrated the World Environment Day by clearly demonstrating its on-going sustainability programme with the installation of 189 environmentally-friendly light-emitting diode (LED) lights at the centre’s main building.

The engineering team at Hilton KHBTCC replaced the current halogen lights with the new LED light bulbs to help save energy consumption in the public and private areas at the award winning King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Center. The team estimates a likely energy saving of 70%.

The re-lamping exercise also marked the first anniversary of last year’s major tree-planting scheme in the grounds and surrounding areas of the Centre. Over 450 trees are now blossoming as a result of the planting and KHBTCC team members marked the anniversary occasion with a green-fingered maintenance programme designed to help healthy tree growth.

Garabid Bedivian, director of engineering at Hilton KHBTCC, commented: “This initiative is another milestone in our calendar of events that supports this year’s Hilton Worldwide’s “Living Sustainably” campaign. Through our activities we aim not only to help conserve and protect the surrounding environment but become positive role models of change helping to inspire others to support sustainable living.”
