The Journal of Law and Cyber Warfare Presents the First Annual Cyber Warfare One Day Symposium

NEW YORK - Aug. 20, 2014 - PRLog -- Join JLCW at our 1st Annual Cyber Warfare One Day Symposium November 6, 2014 in New York, NY at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice.  Please visit conference.jlcw.org to find a detailed agenda and register.

JLCW’s conference will enable attendees to interact with leaders from a comprehensive range of sectors including but not limited to: NGOs, government, tech, commercial, military, cultural and legal.

The Symposium will provide attendees with an unparalleled opportunity for acquiring new tools and techniques to address emerging cyber warfare/terrorism.  Each sector faces different threats, issues, and problems, and our Symposium speakers will discuss the most important issues and threats they deal with on a daily basis pertaining to cyber warfare, cyber security, and rights to privacy.  The Cyber Warfare One Day Symposium is intended to focus on the existing international regulations on cyber-weapons and cyber-warfare and encourage legal, technical, policy, business, and military thought leaders to engage in dialog.

With new threats cyber warfare and cyber security coming daily both domestically and internationally, whether by State actors, State sponsored actors, or individual hackers, Chief Technology Officers, government officials, and lawyers are being forced to reconsider their response to cyber attacks.  But this begs the question, how far is too far?  Or, should we be creating an international court to try cyber criminals?  If so, who will decide their fate?  The issue of Cyber Warfare is not one of a single corporation or even a single country.  Cyber Warfare is a global issue of security, privacy, and human rights.  Cyber Warfare promises to effect major law firms, corporations, government entities, and even the way we go to war, in the coming years.  We must discuss the implications and begin to design far-reaching responses to protect the human right to privacy.

Today, technology and the Internet play a critical role in our lives; they have fundamentally shaped the way we work, consume, produce, and communicate.  The issues and policies surrounding this topic are arguably the most important and critical issues of this generation and for future generations to come.  Yet there is a stunning lack of public discourse and awareness.  The Journal of Law and Cyber Warfare intends to change this, by bringing cyber security to the forefront and promoting critical discussion.  Please visit conference.jlcw.org to learn more and register.
