The Florida State Unit of SOUTHERN CHRISTIAN LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE (SCLC) is calling a statewide Press Conference, in St. Petersburg, Florida on Tuesday, August 19, 2014. The Executive Board of Directors are coming together to attend this press conference concerning the outrage of Michael Brown of Ferguson, MO who was an unarmed black teen, that was shot and killed by a policeman in Ferguson, Missouri on August 9, 2014.  SCLC has recognized the feral of the police force all over America in many killings of unarmed black people.  SCLC’s leadership is placing a warning out to the State of Florida that this state is not immune to the challenges and violence that has occurred in Ferguson, Mo. SCLC will not stand by to see our black and brown youth and brothers and sisters be Shot and Killed as it has been a status quo by police in the State of Florida.
