-- The Ice Bucket Challenge is a viral internet sensation, aimed to raise money and awareness towards Lou Gehrig’s disease. Clear Vision Communications Cleveland office partnering manager, Stephen Scott, accepted the 24 hour ice bucket challenge on August 17th
. With the nomination from Clear Vision’s accountant Lauren Keith, Stephen Scott took the chance to nominate three of Clear Vision Communications managing partners: Meshak Faton, Cody Staton, and Mike Lefeld.
The ice bucket challenge initially started as a small fundraiser, in which a participant was allowed to choose any charity of their choice. The internet sensation did not aim to aid ALS charity until July 15 with participant, Chris Kennedy, a golfer from Sarasota, FL. Kennedy chose the ALS charity due to the fact that his relative is suffering from Lou Gehrig’s disease. From one viral video to another, the ice bucket challenge spread like wildfire among all ages.
There are no limitations of the ice bucket challenge as it has grown internationally along with drawing in a range of celebrities from Oprah, Lebron James, Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerburg. The fundraiser has raised a total of $15.6 million to help research Lou Gehrig’s disease.
We are very excited that Clear Vision Communications Inc. received the opportunity to participate in this amazing fundraiser!
